A kalash yatra was taken out on the first day of the Bhagwad Katha under the aegis of the Swarnima Samiti headed by Shastri Ajay Prakash Uniyal in Mussoorie amid beating of traditional drums and religious fervour today.

The yatra began from the Sanatan Dharm Temple in Landour Bazaar and passed through various markets of the town before culminating at the katha venue at the Mussoorie Club hotel around mid-noon.

Devotees, especially women, dressed in colourful clothes and carrying utensils full of Ganga jal on their heads joined the procession along with other devotees, who danced to the tunes of religious songs in the glory of Lord Vishnu and Shiva and delved in religious ecstasy all the way through the yatra. Acharya Kapil Dev Shastri explained the meaning of verses during the Bhagvad Katha to devotees.
