Keep surroundings clean, Vipra Trivedi urges people

Mukhya Nagar Adhikari (MNA) of the Municipal Corporation Vipra Trivedi has urged people to ensure cleanliness around their neighbourhood, offices, streets, shops and commercial premises.

Vipra, while taking part in a cleanliness drive on the Municipal Corporation premises, here today said keeping our own homes clean was not enough and we must keep public places and our surroundings equally clean. It was our responsibility that we ensure cleanliness outside our homes too.

Saplings were also planted on the civic body premises. Vipra urged companies to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in keeping the city clean and green.

The Municipal Corporation with support from Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), Ranipur, would be installing garbage bins at Har-ki-Pauri ,Ganga ghats and inner corridors of the city. BHEL will provide Rs 10 lakh to the civic body for the project.

A few months ago, the Municipal Corporation placed 70 garbage bins bought for Rs 5 lakh at Har-ki-Pauri. Meanwhile, the Joint Union of Municipal Corporation Employees felicitated MNA Vipra, former legislator Ambrish Kumar, former Municipal Council chairperson Satpal Brahmachari for their role in facilitating payment of pending wages and arrears to them.

Notably, the union had held a strike on the Municipal Corporation premises against the delay in payment of salaries and arrears. However, following intervention of Vipra Trivedi, Ambrish Kumar and Satpal Brahmachari, they had ended their strike. Earlier this month, the employees were paid pending salaries and arrears in one installment before Diwali. The union members decided to felicitate Vipra, Ambrish and Satpal.

Vipra said it was our duty to take the Municipal Corporation forward and all issues could be sorted out through talks. Boycott of work was no solution to any problem. Ambrish Kumar said employees were the pillar of the civic body and assured them of all support. Satpal Brahmachari said the interests of the employees would be protected on priority. Councillors Upendra Kumar, Aman Garg and Sachin Beniwal attended the function.
