Jammu, April 18
Mansoor Hussain Sohrawardhy, vice-chairman, J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), called on Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhawan here today.
Sohrawardhy apprised the Governor about the to-date status of various programmes being run by the KVIB for the propagation of khadi and other industries in rural areas, about the KVIB training centres which skill people to equip them with necessary expertise and its initiatives for providing monetary help to individuals, societies and institutions for establishing village industries.
The Governor stressed the importance of khadi and village industries for encouraging enterprising youth and for bringing overall economic prosperity in rural areas.
