Kiran demands public apology

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Kiran Choudhry today said Agriculture Minister OP Dhankar should apologise for his “anti-farmer” remarks.
She accused him of displaying insensitivity by labelling farmers who take their lives as “cowards and criminals”. He should tender a public apology and withdraw his remarks, she demanded.
Kiran said that he had crossed all limits of insensitivity at a time when the farmers across the state had suffered huge losses. “It was quite unbecoming of a person holding a Cabinet rank. It reflects the anti-farmer thinking of him and the the BJP Government which works only for the industrialists,” she said. Desperation drives one to suicide. In the case of farmers, the government can’t absolve itself of this charge. Farmers have been received relief, she added.  — TNS
