Dehradun, August 22

Kendriya Vidayalaya, FRI, defeated Kendriya Vidayalaya, IMA, in the final of the KV Inter School Football Tournament held at Kendriya Vidyalaya, FRI, here today.

It was a tough match between the two teams. It was indeed a moment of pride for the host school to win the tournament in a penalty shootout by scoring 4 goals. KV IMA could score only 2 goals. The extraordinary goalkeeping showcased by goalkeeper Hitesh Kannojia ensured victory for KV FRI.

Assistant Commissioner of Kendriya Vidayalayas Sangathan (Dehradun Region) Vinod Kumar Pandey, and former Assistant Commissioner of the sangathan (Ranchi region) Lalima Verma were present on the the occasion.

Vinod Pandey gave away awards to the winners. Principal Dr Charu Sharma thanked staff members, referees along with physical education trainer KK Kala and coaches Kiran and Deepa for their rigorous and consistent efforts. Vice Principal SK Joshi proposed a vote of thanks. The selected players from the Dehradun region will take part in national tournament to be held in Delhi.
