Dehradun, January 17
Natya Bhushan Lakshmi Narayan, a senior theater artiste of Uttarakhand, was given the International Junu Award-2015 for his works in the field of art and theatre at Bal Snagrah Bhavan in Lucknow on January 1. The organization awarded eight Indians and two foreigners working in different fields.
Natya Bhushan was felicitated by a group of social working organizations for his achievement in a programme held at the Press Club on Sunday. State Congress president Kishore Upadhyay felicitated the artiste by giving him a token of appreciation. While addressing the gathering he said, “ Natya Bhushan Lakshmi Narayan has dedicated 57 precious years of his life to boost the art and theatre of the state”. By winning the national award he has brought proud to the state and the community, he added.
Prithvi Raj, Congress city president, Rajkumar, MLA Rajpur and officials of the Valmiki Samaj Kalyan Samiti, Doon Ghati Rangmanch, Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akadmi and Jankalyan Patrakar Samiti were present at the ceremony. — TNS
