LED bulb prices slashed

Shimla, December 4

Consumers will get an LED bulb for Rs 65 under the Central Government’s UnnatJyoti by Affordable LEDs for all (UJALA) programme.

According a press note, prices of LED bulbs under the scheme have been further reduced. The 9-watt LED bulbs will now be available to consumers of the state for just Rs 65 each.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is implementing this programme across the country. Under UJALA, the price of LED bulbs may vary from state to state due to applicable local taxes, the note added. — TNS
