LPU conferred the ‘Honoris Causa’ Degree of Doctor of Letters upon PM Mosisili for his dedication and continuous endeavour to uphold peace and harmony and in recognition of his outstanding public service and excellent governance.

Mosisili advised 15,000 graduating students to always follow the great teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. He drew parallels between Moshoeshoe, the founding king of Africa’s Basatho clan, and Father of the Nation saying that they both believed in the same governing principles. “They showed remarkable resemblance even in the liberation struggle,” he said.

Sharing a quote of Mahatma Gandhi that politics without principles is one of the seven deadliest sins, the Lesotho PM, who came along with his wife Mathato Mosisidi and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon Tlohang Sekhamane, urged upon the students to initiate an aggressive public civic education and make efforts to help the economy grow.

Governor of Punjab and Haryana Kaptan Singh Solanki exhorted the students to contribute to the challenging task of nation building.
