Mohali, March 29
Keeping in mind the demand of residents, the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) is constructing library rooms in three parks of the city.
The parks where the facility will come up are in Sector 69, Sector 65 and in the Rose Garden, Phase IIIB1.
Each structure will come up at a cost of Rs 23 lakh. Besides the main hall, the library will have an office room. Facilities of a pantry and washroom will also be provided there.
The work order for the project has been given to contractors. They have been given three-month time to finish the work.
After the libraries are ready, these would be handed over to resident welfare associations.
Earlier, a similar facility was provided in the City Park in Sector 68. It is being run by senior citizens. — OC
