Ludhiana, July 8
The employees of the Life Insurance Company (LIC)of India held a demonstration during the lunch time today.
The demonstration call was given by the joint front, comprising Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association (NZIEA), Federation of Class-I Officers’ Association and Association of Development Officers. The employees were on the path of agitation, fighting for their wage revision which was due since August 1, 2012, and another option for pension, which was a residual issue of the last wage revision.
The rally at divisional office was addressed by divisional secretary Amarjit Singh, secretary Class-I Officers’ Association NS Kala and NZIEA president Harbans Singh.
While addressing the rally, the leaders pointed out that despite shinning growth of LIC year after year due to the best performance of LIC employees and officers, the wage revision for the past three years was hanging fire and employees and officers were aggrieved for the denial of their rights.
