Ludhiana, May 5
The Punjab Arts Council, Chandigarh, will present the lifetime achievement award to folk singer Ranjit Kaur on May 8.
The council will award her for her extraordinary services in Punjabi folk songs in the past four decades.
Gulzar Singh Pandher, convener of the function, said the award function would be held at Dr Mohinder Singh Randhawa Auditorium at the Punjab Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh.
Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson of Punjab Arts Council, said Ranjit Kaur was one of the best duet singers in Punjabi music industry. She had given several hit songs and served the Punjabi language.
The council would give cash prize and a memento to Ranjit Kaur as Lifetime Achievement Award.
Ranjit Kaur is well-known for her duet singing with Mohammad Sadiq, MLA from Bhadaur constituency.
