The District Administration is all set to host NRI Sangat Darshan in the city on January 17.
This NRI Sangat Darshan will host NRIs from Ludhiana, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr), Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, Ropar and Ajitgarh districts (Mohali).
NRI Sangat Darshan programmes are being organised by the Punjab Government for connecting with the Punjabi Diaspora settled abroad and redressing their grievances.
While holding a review meeting of the NRI Sangat Darshan, Deputy Commissioner Rajat Agarwal said the aim of this sangat darshan was to have direct interface with the NRIs to solve their problems on the spot in the presence of government top brass.
In order to ensure on-the-spot solution of the problems faced by these NRIs, the top brass of the police and the civil administration from these districts will be deployed at the venue - Whistling Woods Resort on the Ferozepur Road.
The deputy commissioner said a district-wise helpdesk would be set up at the venue along with an exhibition showcasing the ongoing development works in various government departments.
He said any NRI having any grievance from eight districts could simply come to the venue, get himself/herself registered and get it redressed in the presence of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and other senior bureaucrats and officials.
The DC said record of all complaints would be maintained in a computerised manner so that it could be followed up properly in future also.
He said if any NRI from the above mentioned districts was having any grievance, he needed to bring complete regard of his case and get himself registered at the venue on January 17.
ADC Khanna Ajay Sood has been deputed as nodal officer for holding NRI Sangat Darshan in Ludhiana, whereas general assistant to the DC, Kanu Thind, is supervising the work.
The officers present at the meeting included ADC Neeru Katyal, SDM Shena Aggarwal, SP (H) Ludhiana Rural Bahadur Singh, besides heads of all government departments of the district administration.
