The police of Mahendragarh and neighbouring Rajasthan’a Alwar and Jhunjhunu districts have joined hands to nab proclaimed offenders (POs) and bail jumpers who have been dodging the police for a long time.

“As many as 20 POs and 41 bail jumpers of Mahendragarh are residents of Alwar and Jhunjhunu districts. Similarly, 12 POs and 20 bail jumpers of Rajasthan are residing in Mahendragarh district. Criminals have become a cause of concern for the police of both the states as they are not succeeding in arresting them despite raiding their whereabouts,” said sources.

They said that lack of support and coordination between the police of different districts was the main reasons behind the non-arrest of the POs and bail jumpers.

“In order to establish better coordination between the police of both the states to nab the criminals, a joint meeting of senior police officials of Mahendragarh, Alwar and Jhunjhunu districts was held in Narnaul wherein it was decided to run a special campaign to arrest the POs and bail jumpers of both the states,” said Naresh Kumar, spokesman of the Mahendragarh police.

He maintained the officials exchanged information about the criminals besides chalking out special strategy to reinforce the police arrangements at the border points so that criminals could not cross the border.

“Since most of the criminals in Haryana as well as in Rajasthan use to flee to their neighbouring state with an intention to evade arrest, hence joint efforts are needed to nab such criminals in each other’s state. Details of most wanted criminals of both the states were also shared at the meeting,” he added.
