Student activist group Making a Difference by Being the Difference (MAD) have completed a three-day activity called ‘Wall Restoration Drive’ to restore a wall mural situated on the Canal Road.

The volunteers worked on the worn- out wall mural which the group had initially painted in 2014. They first removed the large stretch of posters which had hidden the original mural. After scrubbing the wall clean, the volunteers then coated the entire wall with white paint. The wall was cleaned and painted white on November 5. The next day, the volunteers made the outline of a new design and then used different colours to paint the different elements of Dehradun and write their slogan to celebrate the spirit of Dehradun. The final touches to the wall mural were given yesterday.

The effort of the volunteers culminated in a brightly coloured wall mural, highlighting the elements which make Dehradun unique. Swati Singh, Karan Kapoor, Sameer Chaudhary, Shiwang Panthari, Sarang Godbole, Gaurav Juyal and Hardeep Singh took part in the activity.
