Make some noise for Punjab’s first lady DJ— Yamya

Breaking the male dominated arena, a city-based girl, Yamya Arora, has become the first female DJ of the state. Yamya, who was professionally launched by renowned Punjabi actor, Binnu Dhillon, is all ready to make you dance on her tunes.

A resident of Kabir Nagar, Yamya, was a student of fashion designing but also had a love for dancing and soon developed an inclination towards the sound tracks and once she discovered her real passion is in the music and sound, she never looked back.

“My mother always supported me in my venture and I took training for six months from DJ Rink and Rohit. Today, I can proudly say that I have a collection of 5000 new and old sound tracks,” she said.

Despite being a commerce graduate Yamya is also a professional model. She started off by playing for her friends and became an instant hit.

“Everyone in my friend circle is either into modelling and acting and they use to tease me that I am ‘nobody’ but today I have proved myself and emerged as a winner in the field I choose for myself. Today my friends and family are proud of me,” she said.

Yamya Arora broke into the music scene with her electric mixing skills and Punjabi strains that are a trademark in all her music.

Her music portfolio includes mixes from genres including Bollywood, Hip Hop, tech, progressive and UK Punjabi. Experimenting and discovering new tunes is her strong point as a DJ.

Yamya believes there are challenges in every field but it’s about being bold and standing upto them. ‘’I become a DJ because of my passion for music , and this is what I always wanted to do. Female DJs get a great response from the crowd. People gwt excited when they see a girl making them groove of the dance floor.”

Whether she is walking the ramp for multiple brands or at the console, she surely knows how to get the energy going and believes that music is the key to express your deepest dreams and desires.
