he has been given the additional charge as the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation MD.

After assuming the charge, Narang said to take the PRTC on the revival mode, they would soon start the operation of luxury buses to New Delhi Airport from all prominent cities of Punjab.

He said: “Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal have given me absolute authority for the positive revolution of the transport sector in Punjab. I have also chosen my team that will prove the result within a few days.”

Narang said he would direct the employees, including drivers and conductors, to change their daily routine and also behave properly with passengers to improve the image of Pepsu Road Transport Corporation.

He said: “The government should also increase the tax of luxury buses to enhance the revenue and to put control over private bus operators. We will also focus on the local routes and operate the buses on the same.”

Earlier, Narang had joined as the MD in January 2015 when Pepsu Road Transport Corporation was literally struggling with its deficit mounting with each passing month. The condition was so bad that the Punjab and Haryana High Court, in about 100 cases of contempt against the PRTC management for defaulting on the payment of mandatory dues to its employees despite repeated directions from the court, had directed the corporation to sell off its properties to clear the dues. However, immediately after his joining, he pulled up the staff and introduced a fleet of around 350 buses, which improved the fiscal condition of the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation.
