Chandigarh, April 25

Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal today released Blood on the Green, a book authored by senior journalist PPS Gill. Harish Khare, Editor-in-Chief, The Tribune, was the guest of honour at the book launch.

The book deals with the author’s own recollection of images and remembrances of journalistic “adventures”, particularly when terrorism was at its peak in Punjab. The storytelling in the book is episodic and captures vignettes from across the state, especially from Amritsar and Gurdaspur.

Badal, in his typical poetic style, said: “The rot has set in the once most prosperous and progressive states of Punjab, but all Punjabis, especially of his generation, owe it to their motherland to stem the rot and take the state forward.” Harish Khare, who has written the foreword for the book, dwelt on the fact that the author stood out as a journalist of repute at a time when the media was facing an issue of credibility. tns
