The mutilation of the bodies of the Army’s Naib Subedar Paramjeet Singh and the BSF’s Prem Sagar, who laid down their lives while fighting in Poonch sector, is a dastardly act, which seems to have been taken by Pakistan to avenge the surgical strikes on the launch pads of terrorists in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir area.

This was stated by martyr Capt Saurabh Kalia’s father Dr NK Kalia. “The ghastly incident has brought back the 17-year-old memories of the Kargil war when the body of martyr Capt Saurabh Kalia of Palampur was found mutilated, which was the handiwork of Pakistan army,” said Dr Kalia. He said this issue was raised by him time and again at various national and international forums but to no avail.

“Any civil society will condemn such a cowardly act, which is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention. Even the Government of India showed no seriousness to take up the issue with the United Nations,” said Dr NK Kalia .

Dr Kalia said had the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence taken serious cognizance of the case of Captain Kalia, the Pakistan army would have desisted from committing such ghastly acts on the bodies of Paramjeet Singh and Prem Sagar.

He said the Government of India should take up this matter with an international war crimes tribunal and the Pakistan government so that no martyr, irrespective of nationality, was subjected to such cruel treatment.
