Mayor releases poetry book ‘Dost di Shayari’
Chandigarh, March 28
A special programme was organised by Sahit Vigyan Kendra, Chandigarh, to release a book titled ‘Dost di Shayari’, written by famous writer Manmohan Singh Grewal, alias Manmohan Dost, at his residence here.
City Mayor Arun Sood was the chief guest while Prof Hari Krishan Singh Mehta presided over the function.
The book was released by Mayor Arun Sood, members of the presidential council Sevi Rayat, Gursharan Singh Mavi along with family members of the late author.
Sood expressed concern over the neglect of mother tongue Punjabi and assured that he would do his best to save and promote the language.
Commenting on the book, Deepak Sharma said: ‘Dost ki Shayari’ was beautiful poetry and a page turner till the very end. He praised the writer for raising his voice, via book against evil societal practices, politics and religion. — TNS
