MC launches mobile phone application, upgraded website

The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today launched a mobile application to allow residents to lodge their complaints through mobile phones. The corporation has also launched its new upgraded website.

New Dynamic Citizen Centric Website has been upgraded under the Digital India Programme and was inaugurated by Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner. Municipal Commissioner Mandeep Kaur was also present on the occasion.

The residents can download the mobile application from Google Play Store and can forward their grievances to the authorities concerned by using the mobile application.

“The general public can register their grievances online through the website/mobile app. The Global Positioning System (GPS)/Geographic Information System (GIS)-based location tracking system will track the location of the complainant and will send him the details of the official concerned along with his contact number for a follow up. A push message will also be sent to the next level official till the grievance is redressed,” said Pawan Kotwal.

The applicant can file RTI applications online and he will also receive replies online through his registered email address. The requisite fee for an RTI application shall also be paid by him online through the e-payment mode. There is also provision for online first appeal of the registered RTI if he is not satisfied with the reply of the PIO.

The payment in respect of all the services shall be received through the e-payment mode via bank payment gateway. This e-payment facility will also be applicable through the mobile app. Residents can pay their sanitation charges, building permission fee, rent, etc, online through various modes, viz credit/debit card, net banking, etc.

Residents can apply for trade/rehri licence and NOC through the website. The requisite payments in this case shall also be received both through the website as well as through the mobile app.
