Members of Ror community protest ‘police inaction’

Irate over police inaction in the Sukhbir murder case, who was reportedly killed 11-days ago in a brawl at the grain market, the family and members of Ror community, to which the victim belongs, blocked the roads at Chirao crossing today.

Due to this, the Karnal-Kaithal and Karnal-Assandh roads remained blocked and commuters were harassed for around two-and-half-hours.

The agitating members raised slogans and demanded the arrest of the accused. Nasib Singh, president of Ror community, said 30-year-old Sukhbir of Jundla village was murdered on the intervening night of March 4-5. The police registered a case against two persons, who were still absconding.

SP Abhishek Garg, DSP Jitender Gehlawat rushed to the spot and pacified the protesters. The SP assured the family members that efforts were being made to nab the accused. With the assurance of the SP, the protesters called off their stir, but threatened to intensify it if the accused was not arrested within 48 hours.
