In an effort to provide easy access of cash withdrawals and other basic banking services to employees of airlines, Central Industrial Security Force and travellers, Axis Bank has setup a Micro ATM at Jammu airport.
The ATM was inaugurated by Javed Anjum, officiating director, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Jammu airport. Vishesh Dhingra, cluster head, J&K and Vikas Kumar, Jammu branch head of Axis Bank, were also present on the occasion.
Bank’s micro ATMs at the airport will enable employees of the airport, CISF and travellers to perform basic financial transactions suchas cash withdrawals and deposits, fund transfers and making utility bill payments. They can access the services by using their Aadhaar number and fingerprint as an identity proof.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Silas, president and head of branch banking, Axis Bank, said, “The launch of the micro ATM at the Jammu airport is a step towards proactively reaching out extensively to the people working at the airport besides facilitating them to conduct basic banking services more conveniently. We are identifying community-led strategic locations and are deploying micro ATMs to save customers’ time and offer banking services at their doorstep.” — TNS
