MLAs belonging to both Congress and BJP, who have been ferried to different locations due to the fear of horse trading in the Vidhan Sabha on March 28, are interacting through the social media or other means with their voters keeping in mind that the Assembly elections may be held earlier than the scheduled time next year.

Urban Development and Animal Husbandry Minister Pritam Panwar, who belongs to the Progressive Democratic Front (PDF), in a press release issued here today recounted the developments works done by him in the Yamunotri constituency. Panwar said as Yamunotri MLA, he had got 19 road construction and widening projects sanctioned.

He said the construction of the Barkot-Rauntal road, Pujargaon road for light vehicles, the HRT Jaspur road, Kalsi-Kumarada road, Badethi-Banchaura road, Junga, and widening of the Indra-Tipri road were all sanctioned during his tenure as Yamunotri MLA.

Panwar praised Chief Minister Harish Rawat for approving all these road construction and repair proposals for his Assembly constituency. Several other MLAs, namely Mahavir Rangad (BJP) from Dhanaulti, Vijaypal Sajwan from Uttarkashi have also begun interacting with their voters. BJP legislators are blaming the Congress-led state government for the incomplete works in their constituencies.

Political analysts believe that many MLAs belonging to the two main parties may be awaiting the outcome of the recent political crisis. They may be trying to outwit each other in the number game in the Vidhan Sabha but they feel that the election time is nearing. Hence they have increased their efforts to reconnect with the voters as much as possible.
