A meeting of the Anjuman-e-Awqaf Jamia Masjid was held today, which was presided over by its president Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
During the meeting, final shape was given to preparations and arrangements for Laylat al-Qadr (Night of Decree), Jumu’atul-Wida (the last Friday prayers in the month of Ramazan) and Eid-ul-Fitr. It was resolved to provide every possible facility to devotees coming to the Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, from far-flung areas.
Mirwaiz stressed upon office bearers and members of the Anjuman to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, cleanliness, furnishing and other necessary amenities for the people coming to offer prayers at the mosque during the “Ten days of salvation” of the Ramazan. It was held that Anjuman members would get in touch with the departments concerned for power, water, drainage, civil works and traffic arrangements.
It was decided at the meeting that Jumu’atul-Wida prayers will be held at 2:30 pm while Mirwaiz would start his address from 12:30 pm. Isha (late evening) prayers on Laylat al-Qadr will be held at 10 pm, which would be followed by a Waiz-o-Tableeg Majlis while Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will be held at Eidgah Srinagar at 9:45 am. Mirwaiz will shed light on Eid-ul-Fitr and the philosophy of Ramazan from 8:45 am.
