MLA meets Army officials, residents to resolve land row

Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi met Army officials and residents of Mitthi Bedi to mediate and resolve a land dispute between them here today.

Joshi said the Army had no right to harass Mitthi Bedi residents when the Army had already got the land at Kolhu Paani in an exchange agreement done by the district administration.

The MLAalleged that a contractor from the IMA, Ram Bhadur Thapa, had entered into a brawl with employees of the contractor employed by Mitthi Bedi residents and stopped the ongoing construction work. Private contractor Pradeep Rawat lodged a police complaint after that some normalcy returned to the area.

Joshi said the Army contractor was acting at the behest of Army officials thus indulging in physical assault and other illegal means to create fear among Mitthi residents.

He further said if strict action was not taken against the IMA contractor, they would launch a massive agitation and a dharna against the police. Mitthi Bedi residents Virendar Rawat, Pradeep Rawat, Bhagat Singh, Chandrakala and others were present on the occasion.
