The monkey repellent installed at the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Panjab University was on Saturday shifted to the hostel number 7 at Panjab University for further trial by the authorities.
The authorities took the decision after they received a complaint about the sharp noise created by the device, which was causing disturbance.
The machine was installed outside the window of the chamber of the chairperson due to which it was creating an unpleasant noise in the area.
As per norms, it should have been installed in the open and that too at a height of 10 feet to prevent any disturbance to nearby people.
PU project coordinator Dr Harish said at present the UIPS did not have electricity connection in the nearby area to install the device.
He said after making the power arrangements another trial would be conducted.
