Mystery shrouds PAU student’s death at hostel

A 25-year-old student of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) died under mysteries circumstances at Hostel No. 1 on the campus yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Jalandhar.
According to the police, Gagandeep Singh, who resided outside the campus, often came to meet his friends at he hostel. Last evening when he was in Hostel No. 1, he complained of some health problem. Soon, his condition deteriorated.
He was rushed to DMC Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Mohammed Jamil, PAU SHO, said: “The student died of cardiac arrest. We have handed over the body to his parents after a post-mortem examination was conducted at Civil Hospital. The proceedings under section 174 CrPC have been filed in this regard”.
Gagandeep Singh had been pursuing BSc (Agriculture), a six-year programme. He was in the 4th year of the course.
