Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda visited the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT) here yesterday and inspected various wards there.
He also visited Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU).
Nadda was accorded a warm welcome by Dr Vijay Dhasmana, SRHU Vice Chancellor and member of the presidential body of the HIHT, and he went to the Swami Rama Centre to pay homage to the founder of the HIHT.
The minister inspected the emergency, radiology, pathology and other wards of the 750-bedded super-specialty Himalayan Hospital, the blood bank and the Cancer Research Institute.
Nadda interacted with patients and their attendants and expressed satisfaction at the healthcare services and facilities being provided by the hospital. He appreciated efforts of doctors and other staff for rendering selfless services.
He applauded the institute for providing affordable and subsidised quality medicare services to the people of the Garhwal and Kumaon regions and adjoining states as well. “I am happy to note that the institute is providing quality healthcare and medical services to people and is an important part of the Uttarakhand Medical and Health Services,” he said.
He assured the institute of providing all possible support in their mission to serve the poor and the needy of the state.
The minister met Dr Vijendra Chauhan, Dr Sunil Saini, Dr JP Sharma, Medical Superintendent, Himalayan Hospital, and other doctors at the hospital.
