Renowned Bollywood actor and social worker Nana Patekar, recognising the hardship, sacrifices and duty of the braveBorder Security Force (BSF) jawans during the recent cross-border firing, visited the BSF border outposts in Hiranagarand Kathua on the Jammu International Border on Tuesday.
He shared some memorable moments with enthusiastic jawans and officers of the BSF. Nana Patekar, who was conferred honorary rank of Captain by the Army, expressing his emotions, said: “Soldiers serving at the front are our real heroes. They fight a battle every day to protect the integrity of the nation.”
He said it was a great opportunity to come and meet the BSF troops. The whole nation stands firmly with them, he added.
Nana Patekar, who once said “our greatest weapon is not the Bofors, nor the AK, but our jawans”, is known for his simple lifestyle, generous donation, drought-relief activities and helping indebted farmers.
Thanking Patekar, DK Upadhayay, Inspector General (IG), BSF, Jammu frontier, said such visits raise the morale of troops.
