Though National Name Yourself Day does not appear on special days of a calendar but social media has introduced the concept among residents of the region to celebrate the forgotten day in society.
Toeing the trend found among their counterparts from other parts of the western world, subscribers on social media sites including facebook and whatsapp came up with inspirational and motivational names .
Airing their sentiments, aspiration and characteristics; was cited as main factor behind the adoption of changed name for one day.
Rani Pathak, an NRI from Sahnewal village settled in Australia named herself as ‘Hope’ on the day as she intended being a ray of hope anyone interacting with her.
“My parents called me Rani as it was their dream that I should live like a queen, but I would love to give hope to people who have lost hope in their lives,” she said..
Tarsem Garg, a local trader, declared that he should be called by his son’s name ‘Sahil’. “It has been my earnest desire that I should help till the end of their problems,” he said.
‘Human’ is the unique name adopted by Anupam at least on this special as she respects and believes in human values more than any other single avenue of life. “I wish to have my name as ‘Human’ because I strongly believe in humanity and my life revolves around it,” said Anupam.
