Natrang stages Hindi play ‘Lohaar ki ek’

The Natrang today staged Hindi play “Lohaar Ki Ek” in its ongoing weekly series here.

The play was written by Rishimohan Srivastav and directed and devised by Neeraj Kant.

The play is based on a character that has habit of making false statements every day, played by Masood Qadir.

The practice not only invites annoyance of everyone around but the man suffers innumerous losses as well.

Due to his habit of making false statements no servant of his sticks to the work and the man is compelled to mange his house on his own.

Tired of handling the day-to-day affairs, he seeks help from one of his friends played by Ankush Lakhnotra.

His friend brings him a servant, enacted by Mahikshit Singh Langeh.

While the terms are mutually fixed, the servant informs the man that he also has the habit of lying, but its limited to once in six months.

In the beginning, the servant somehow tries to adjust but later finds it difficult to manage with the unwarranted lies of his master.

The story takes a turn and one day the servant in his dream sees his master being robbed of his valuables by a thief, played by Mohammad Yaseen.

The master takes the dream as a warning and dispatches all his valuables to his native village through the servant. He also tells him to enquire about the wellbeing of his mother, wife, son, his horse and pet dog.

When the servant returns, master wants to know about the wellbeing of his loved ones.

Servant tells him that his dog had died while eating the bone of his horse, which in turn had died while bringing bricks for building the grave of his mother.

Before he could enquire about the reason of his mother’s sad demise the servant tells him that the old lady could not bear the shock of her daughter-in-law’s death, who committed suicide seeing her only son dead.

Listening to all this, the master rushes to his village. The dog runs towards him from a distance followed by the horse.

Seeing the horse run, his son, wife and mother come out of the house.

The master runs after his servant, but he defends himself saying that he had already informed him about his habit of telling a lie once in six months.
