Negi is DG (Forests)

Dehradun, June 21

Dr SS Negi, a 1980 batch IFS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed Director-General (Forests) and Special Secretary to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. He will succeed SS Garbyal upon his retirement on July 31.

At present, Dr Negi is posted as Additional Director-General (FC) in the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. Earlier, he had served at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, as Director and Vice-Chancellor, FRI (Deemed) University. — TNS
