New Khanna SSP faces tough challenges ahead

Raj Jeet Singh (PPS), new SSP of Khanna, today assumed charge after the transfer of Satinder Singh (PPS) as SSP-Vigilance, Jalandhar. The new SSP faces an uphill task in solving high-profile murder cases, including the assassination of two Dera Premis (a man and his son).
Even about an year after the murder of Shiv Sena leader Durga Parsad, his killers are still untraced. Durga Parsad was shot dead on April 23, 2016, at Lalheri Chowk by two youngsters. The police have obtained CCTV footage showing the alleged attackers but they have failed to identify the killers.
On February 25, two Dera Premis, named Satpal and his son Ramesh Kumar, were shot dead at a canteen in front of Naam Charcha Ghar. The police are still clueless in this another high-profile case.
About three years ago, the owner of a medical on the Samrala road was shot dead and another shot at and injured near books market. The attackers have not been identified in both these cases.
