New software delays work at RLA

With the upgraded new software at the Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA) office in Sector 17, residents have to wait for a longer time to deposit the file for RCs and driving lincences.
Recently, the RLA has introduced the software under which scanning of all documents of applicants have become mandatory. Residents said the scanning works was taking too much time. Sunil Kumar, an applicant, who had been standing in the queue for one hour said that the line was moving at a snail’s pace. He said t it took one-and-half hour before his turn came at the counter.
While officers said that they were trying their best to finish the work quickly but scanning of the documents was taking time and the residents would have to bear with that. They said they had opened up two additional counters for the applicants. An officer said that scanning of the documents would help the department to keep the records more safely. It will also be easy to get information more quickly with the new software.

0001 offered Rs 3,10,000
The e-auction for vanity numbers are getting good response as 0001 number of the new series was offered Rs 3,10,000 while Rs 22,5000 was offered for 0007 number on the second day of the auction. The applicants have also shown interest for other vanity numbers like 0003, 0009 and 0005. The auction will end on May 5.
