In order to check corruption, nepotism and anti-social activities in society the newly constituted Janchetna, an NGO, will endeavor to build a healthy society by coordinating with the government and non-government agencies in the area.
This was stated by advocate Ravi Puri, president of the organisation, today after getting the NGO registered under the Himachal Pradesh Societies registration Act, 2005.
He said the NGO would function as a non-political entity in the area and keep a close vigil on pollution related projects, civic amenities and highlight deficiencies in public interest. It would also suggest ways and means in bringing transparency and accountability in day-to-day administration.
Office-bearers were also selected today. Vinod Kumar, has been nominated as the chief advisor of the NGO. Other office-bearers include Rajesh Sahotra, senior vice-president, Jaswant Puri, general secretary, Ankit Mehra, treasurer, Pradeep Sharma, convener, Vishal Sharma and Manmohan Swami, vice-presidents.
