Nothing to panic on H1N1: Dr Rawat

Dehradun, February 28

Officiating Director General (Health and Medicine) Dr DS Rawat today said there were no reports of H1N1A influenza virus being active in Uttarkahand though a woman, who had come from Pune having tested positive for the virus.

“The patient had got infected with the virus in Pune and on her arrival in Dehradun she was admitted to a private hospital. The tests have confirmed that she is suffering from the H1N1A virus,” Dr Rawat said.

As many as 14 samples of patients, who had reported symptoms of H1N1, have been sent to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

In Uttarakhand, as many as 20 persons have lost their lives due to H1N1A influenza in the past three years.
