Now, fly from Haldwani to Munsiyari
Pithoragarh, January 18
The first helicopter service from Haldwani to Munsiyari started here today in a Civil Aviation Department owned helicopter, with five passengers on board.
Tourism Minister Dinesh Dhaney and Forest Corporation Chairperson Harish Dhami jointly flagged off the helicopter service. “We have decided to extend the service up to Milam Glacier, as per the demand of tourists,” Dhami said on the occasion.
KMVN General Manager TS Martolia said the helicopter service would charge Rs 15,000 per person for a return trip from Munsiyari, with 14.50 per cent tax added to it.
“The helicopter service is being run for a week, only to take stock of passengers coming up to take the service to Munsiyari. If the service does not get passengers, it could be reconsidered,” said DK Sharma, Regional Manager (tourism) of KMVN.—OC
