The Zirakpur Municipal Council (MC) has started online facility for the payment of property tax.
While inaugurating the facility, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Industry and Finance, and MLA NK Sharma said utility bills for sewerage and water supply could also be paid online from August 15.
He said to facilitate the timely payment of utility bills, a prior intimation message three days before the due date would be automatically sent to the registered mobile number of the end user.
Regarding the revenue to be collected by the MC from house tax, Sharma said about Rs 5 crore was expected this year as compared to Rs 3 crore last year.
Within the next two months, scanned images of house plans could be submitted on the MC’s website. The requisite fee for approval of the same could also be deposited online.
The online facility for birth and death certificates would also be available from August 15.
Sharma said 226 online services would be made available in the next three months. To ensure easy access to these online facilities, 55 suvidha centres would be established in the Dera Bassi block. Work on 10 suvidha centres in Zirakpur was nearing completion.
