The Florence Nightingale pledge was administered to first-year students of Nursing after three months of their joining at the DRPGMC, Tanda.

Nursing School Principal Sunita Thakur, who administered the oath, said the oath-taking ceremony was organised by the School of Nursing of the DRPGMC, Tanda. She said they were administered the oath before going to wards of hospital for the service of patients.

The ceremony began more than 100 years ago by Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing and popularly known as the Lady with the Lamp. —OC
