Officials miss meeting, kshetra panchayat members protest

Eelected members of kshetra panchayat of Thatyur development block, angry at the most government officials being absent from the block development committee meeting being held at block headquarters, created a ruckus at Thatyur today.

The block development committee member Sandeep Khana said several issues in the agenda needed immediate attention but as most of the government officials failed to attend the meeting, the whole exercise had turned into futile attempt forcing the members to boycott the meeting altogether.

Sandeep said due to the lackadaisical approach of the government officials of the development work has come to standstill since the inception of the new Kshetra panchayat. He said besides the district planning officer and the SDM Dhanaulti no other official was present in the meeting that was really unfortunate.

The members agitated at the absence of the government officials boycotted the meeting altogether.

SDM Dhanaulti Devanand Sharma refuted the charge and said he along with other officials was present in the meeting. and termed the ruckus to some internal politics of the elected members.
