Uttarakhand Police has claimed to have found 631 out of 774 missing children under “Operation Smile” in the state in January.
Several police teams conducted raids at restaurants, inns, hotels, bus stops and railway stations to gather clues about the missing children.
A press release issued by Uttarakhand Police headquarters said “Operation Smile” has two phases. The team identified and gathered information about missing children under the project’s first phase between January 1 and January 15.
As many as 40 police teams conducted raids at several places to recover missing children under the second phase of the project from January 16 to January 31.
