Dehradun, September 13

Azad Ali, chairman, Pachwadoon Bachao Sangharsh Samiti, yesterday said residents had decided to intensify the protest against the proposed trenching ground at Sheeshambara.

He said villagers would not allow the state government to make trenching ground at Sheeshambara. Ali said a memorandum was given to government officials to quash the proposal to shift trenching ground from Sahastradhara road to Sheeshambara, but to no avail.

He said villagers had protested many times against shifting of trenching ground to Sheeshambara but the state government had not paid heed to them. Parita Sharma, Amar Singh, Yakoob Ali etc. were present. — TNS
