Famous Pakistani lyricist and music composer Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq (55) has alleged that music firm T-Series has defrauded him of around Rs20 lakh contract money against two songs of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan he produced for it.

Sadiq said T-Series had signed a contract of around Rs20 lakh in lieu of which he had to produce two songs of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in 2015. “I produced the songs with Rahat in my studio in Lahore and handed it over to T-Series. The company had assured to pay Rs20 lakh in four days. But even after seven months, I am yet to get the money,” Sadiq.

He has sent two legal notices to the company, one through the Pakistan high court and another from Delhi. But the company officials are neither replying to the notice nor entertaining his calls, he alleged.

Neeraj Kalyan, a senior official of T-Series, claimed that the company had stopped the payment of Sadiq because he had not provided the link agreement which he made with singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. On the contrary, Sadiq claimed he had also handed over the agreement.

Sadiq has written over 40,000 songs for Indian and Pakistan music industry and has penned lyrics for famous singers such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Gulam Ali. His songs are also in demand in the Punjabi film industry.
