Jammu, September 11
The Pakistan army this evening repatriated an Indian woman to the authorities in the Poonch sector. The woman, identified as Shamim Akhtar, resident of Nakarkot village in Poonch district, had inadvertently crossed over to the Pakistan side on August 24. “As a goodwill gesture, Shamim Akhtar was handed over to the Army officers via Chakan da Bagh point,” said a Defence source.
Meanwhile, the Army held a Pakistani national in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district yesterday. “At 10.55 am one Pakistani civilian Imran, son of Noor Mohammed of Lahore, was trying to cross over to India. He was apprehended in the Lam area of the Nowshera sector,” a source said. — TNS
