Palliative medicine OPD opened at TMC

The palliative medicine outpatient department (OPD) was opened at Tanda Medical College yesterday. Principal Dr Anil Chauhan said after getting the government nod, an MoU was signed with Pallium India, Trivandrum, and Tata Memorial Trust.

The department has been set up for symptomatic treatment of patients suffering from life-threatening diseases. Chauhan said through the OPD, efforts would be made to improve the quality of life of patients nearing death.

The Medical Superintendent of Tanda hospital has ordered officials to start the facility in Room No. 25, Super-Speciality Block. The OPD will remain open from 10 am to 2 pm daily.

Dr Parveen Sharma said doctors and nurses would be trained to strengthen the department.
