“The system scans the underside of vehicle and displays it on computer monitor. The CISF takes immediate action on detection of some suspicious object hidden under the vehicle,” said DK Borah, DGM (Security). It is the first-ever automated security system installed by the IOCL at the main entry of the PR&PC. It cost the IOCL around Rs 40 lakh, he said.

The system could scan any moving vehicle and produces a high resolution stitched image of its underside on the monitor in real time, he added.

After the system was inaugurated, CISF officials organised a mock drill. The system immediately intercepted a vehicle carrying explosives entering the main gate, Borah said.

It could not succeed to enter the main gate as tyre ripper installed at the main gate immediately come up and an alarm was blown.

The CISFsecurity personnel immediately took over the vehicle and explosive was found, he added.
