Kapil Kholsa, complainant, alleged that certain influential Akali leaders were patronising the attackers.

As per information gathered from police officials, there was a dispute over a piece of factory land at Preet Nagar on Tibba Road.

Around 40 persons, led by Gurvinder Singh, Inderpal Singh, Harpinderpal Singh and Satinder Singh, arrived there around at 2:30 am and started vandalising the gate of the factory.

Kapil Khosla, a resident of Banda Bhadhur Colony, who claims that he is the owner of the property, called up the PCR and informed them about the incident.

A team of PCR personnel reached the spot and tried to pacify the mob. Certain persons, who were part of the mob, snatched the official weapon from Sucha Singh and opened fire at him. Sucha Singh was rushed to the CMC Hospital.
