Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) senior vice-president Sham Lal Sharma has termed the PDP-BJP 10-month rule as a big failure.

Addressing the Chowki Choura Block Congress Committee monthly meeting today, Sham Lal said the previous PDP-BJP government had failed on all fronts and misled the people of Jammu with their false promises.

He said the PDP-BJP government had failed to address the real issues of the people such as shortage of ration, power and road connectivity across the state.

He said the shortage of ration in the Jammu region spoke of the insensitivity and callousness of the previous government.

“The unscheduled power cuts in both metered and unmetered areas are a cause for concern. No development work has been undertaken to improve the condition of roads in the state, which in turn is an impediment to economic development,” the Congress leader said.

He said there was an immediate need for effective measures to bridge the gap between availability and consumption of ration.

The JKPCC vice-president said people were disillusioned by the failure of the PDP-BJP government as people had a lot of expectations from the “Modi sarkar” at the Centre. He said not a single penny had been sanctioned for the 2014 flood victims of Jammu. — TNS
