The PGI doctors, who are protesting for the past one week against against engineer department officials and demanding better facilities, have decided to go the Gandhian way. They have decided to donate 200 pairs of slippers to the PGI administration for use at operation theatres.

They said since the administration was not able to provide even basic amenities like slippers and OT dress in operation theatres, they would donate 200 pairs of slippers for the use of the staff. The doctors are protesting since October 7.

They are demanding the repair of and construction of houses, installation of ACs in the OPD, proper parking for the faculty in research blocks and changing rooms for the female in the OT complex. They alleged that the engineering department officials as well as the Director, PGI, did not bother to redress their grievances.

Today, the protest was joined by 125 faculty members. They reiterated their demand of taking action against non-performing engineering department employees.
