Chandigarh: Criticising the merger of the State Bank of Patiala (SBoP) with the State Bank of India (SBI), veteran Congress leader and former Chairman of the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation Ved Parkash Gupta has sought Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh's intervention. In a letter to the CM, he demanded that the SBoP headquarters at Patiala be made the local head office of the SBI. He stated that the century-old SBoP, founded by the erstwhile rulers of Patiala, had its head office in a heritage building. TNS
